Ishka June 2012

Ishka June 2012

Ishka - inquisitive, intelligent and interesting.

In 2012, Ishka is a 7 year old female, and our Alpha dog, refusing to let the boys get away with anything she disapproves of, and is very cautious about letting other dogs near the pack. J acquired Ishka as a puppy from a litter of Nikita in Bright, Victoria. Her litter brother Rex still lives in Bright and leads Australian Sled dog Tours. Because she is the only one J has raised from very early puppyhood, they have a very close relationship.

Like all our dogs, Ishka is de-sexed and microchipped. She is the only one of our dogs with brown eyes. J has her well trained and she won awards as a young dog, both in sledding and obedience. She is totally Daddy's girl.

In 2012, Ishka ran as a Wheel dog in J's 4 and 6 dog teams, where the view of the other dogs running encouraged her to stay focussed. At other times she tends to sight-see a lot, and enjoys checking out every scent and noise on either side of a trail. As she's getting older, Ishka has had trouble with her hind legs and, in 2013, will be retired for a gentle life.
