My first husky cuddles - with Czar!

Gourgeous Czar is our youngest dog, turning six in 2013. He is described as "bomb-proof" - an utterly calm and cheerful personality, intelligent without an overdose of husky stubbornness. (At least, that's what we thought before we started Obedience training with him.)

Czar was the first of the dogs to really welcome me into the pack. These days he often follows me around the house, just keeping an eye on what I'm doing. He loves cuddles and is the only one of the dogs to fetch. We call him the "Great White Hunter" for his love of investigating any rustle or noise.

Czar has been Lead dog consistently for J's team, and works equally well with Frankie or with Mischa out in front.

Like Bolo and Frankie, Czar came to J through the SHCV's Rescue Program. However, unlike the other boys, Czar was a lucky pup, whose previous owners had tried to look after him and socialise him well. They just hadn't quite realised what they were getting into: Czar's first owners were a pair of young men who thought a pair of husky puppies would be a great idea for their APARTMENT. Czar, then called Ghost, and his sister Zombie, explained to the people that this wasn't the best arrangement for them, by very quickly outgrowing the small space. Czar and Zombie were then taken in by a wildlife loving family who quickly realised that their birds, cats and guinea pigs were at risk with two dogs with such a strong prey drive. They were surrendered to the Rescue Program, where J instantly fell for Czar and Zombie found a new home with a loving family who were more breed experienced.
