Skiing

Most Aussie sled dog people don't get a lot of time for other winter sports. Snow boarding friends of ours now laugh about how much the dogs they thought would complement their snow-centric life have kept them largely too busy to snow board in recent years. I feel a bit the same. Suddenly, it's not just about budgeting for the tickets, hire, accommodation, transport and/or gate fees (all MUCH more expensive than in other countries, due to our short winters), but it's finding a dog sitter or paying kennel fees as well.

This weekend, we had the opportunity to have a cheap weekend skiing, and we were lucky enough to get my brother and his girlfriend to come get their husky fix, dog sitting for us for the weekend. So, while we were out enjoying the best snow season for 33 years...
